The Amazon Rain Forest is the biggest rain forest ever. However, that may no longer be the case since, as of right now, the Amazon has been on fire for several weeks non stop. Global warming is when the Earth gets hotter, which effected the Amazon. Despite our best efforts, the fire continues to rage across the Amazon at an alarming rate of 200,000 acres per day! It upsets me that animals, the planet, and I need to experience the Amazon rain forest burn down. Now, some may think that the Amazon doesn't matter, but that completely wrong. The Amazon has the most animals in it of different species and it provides most of the oxygen in the world.
The Amazon is the largest rain forest in the world, which means that it has the most trees, which means it makes the most oxygen. This rain forest alone is 20% of our world's oxygen, which is a large amount considering how many living things are on our Earth. It's common sense that the less trees there are, the less oxygen we get. Considering how fast the Amazon is burning, the amount of oxygen we lose is a lot. Oxygen is obviously the most essential thing to survive in life, or else we all parish within minutes without it. Letting the Amazon burn down is like if we're throwing away mass amounts of oxygen.
A variety of animals live in the Amazon rain forest. 427 different species of mammals live on the amazon along with 378 different types of reptile species, over 400 species of amphibians, and a whopping 1,300 different types of bird species . Animals like jaguars, macaws, river dolphins, anacondas, and frogs are all good examples of the animals that live in the Amazon rain forest. Many animals in the amazon are going extinct and the fire that has been going on for a while is not helping. The sooner the fire gets put out, the less at risk most animals in the amazon are at going extinct.
The Amazon Rain Forest has been on fire for weeks with no stops in between. I chose to write about the Amazon burning down because I think that losing a lot of our oxygen supply can greatly affect us. It greatly affects our oxygen supply within the world which can cause a lot of issues. The fire is also putting many animals' lives at stake and can possibly put a species into extinction. The fact that there are many rich people who can do something about this, but choose not to do anything make me feel upset, but unlike them, I'm gonna do something. I'm gonna recycle stuff around my house and after a week, I'll put in in the blue bin along with other recyclable things I find on the street. People should be doing whatever they can to help fight against this fire before the fire completely wipes out the entire Amazon with all the animals and trees with it like driving cars less often. As large as the Amazon is, there isn't much time for the Amazon if the fire continues.
